In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the huge relationship between the digestive system, gut, and mood (anxiety, stress, and worry). If you don’t have the microflora (friendly bacteria) in the digestive system, it can potentially cause all sorts of problem in the brain. Microbes make hormone-like proteins (neurotransmitters) that travel through the nervous system like GABA and Serotonin. If you don’t enough microbes, it will have a huge effect on your body’s ability to make neurotransmitters.
